"What E're Thou Art" McKay Stone Sculpture
While a missionary in Scotland, David O. McKay had an experience that would influence him for the rest of his life...
Returning from a visit to Stirling Castle, he passed a building where a stone sculpture above a doorway caught his attention. A carved inscription: "What-E'er Thou Art, Act Well Thy Part." This message struck David O. McKay forcefully, he then decided to devote himself completely to always doing his best in whatever responsibility he had. Aside from the motto engraved at the top, the symbols and shapes create an intriguing puzzle, when understood; give a whole new perspective to the powerful motto. See if you can figure it out!
